Star sapphire cichlid (Placidochromis Phenochilus) is absolutely one of the most stunning breeds of cichlids due to its shiny blue color and sparkling silver spots similarly to a star sapphire gemstone, which gives a premium look to your aquarium. Unlike most other common cichlids, Star sapphire cichlids are brighter in color and have a silkier looking body surface. These fish can live up to 8 years if given a healthy environment with good care and maintenance.
